Gabion Cage

Gabion baskets are mesh cages made of woven metal wire, with the wire diameter varying depending on the size of the square or hexagonal mesh. For hexagonal mesh made of metal wire with a metal coating,the wire diameter is 2.0mm to 4.0mm. For hexagonal mesh woven from PVC-coated metal wire, the outer diameter of the PVC (metal) wire is 3.0mm to 4.0mm. The wire used for the outer frame edges is one sizethicker than the hexagonal mesh wire. Box-shaped gabions are formed by connecting large-sized hexagonal mesh, and during construction, stones are simply placed into the cages and sealed.

Gabion specifications: 2m x 1m x 1m, 3m x 1m x 1m, 4m x 1m x 1m, 2m x 1m x 0.5m, 4m x 1m x 0.5m, and can be manufactured according to customer requirements.

Surface protection options include hot-dip galvanizing, zinc-aluminum alloy coating, and plastic coating.

Uses: Control and guidance of rivers and floods, spillway dams and diversion dams, rockfall protection, prevention of soil erosion, bridge protection, soil stabilization structures, coastal defense engineering, portengineering, retaining walls, and road protection.

Gabion

Gabion mesh is mainly made of four types of materials:

(1) Galvanized steel wire: High-quality low-carbon steel wire, with a diameter of 2.0MM-4.0MM, and a tensile strength of not less than 380Mpa. The surface of the steel wire is protected by hot-dip

galvanizing. The thickness of the galvanized protective layer is manufactured according to customer requirements, and the galvanizing amount can reach up to 300g/m2.

(2) Zinc-5% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy steel wire: (also called Galfan) steel wire. This is a new material that has emerged internationally in recent years. Its corrosion resistance is more than 3times that of traditional pure galvanizing. The steel wire diameter can reach 2.0MM-4.0MM, and the tensile strength is not less than 380Mpa.

(3) Galvanized steel wire coated with plastic: High-quality low-carbon steel wire, coated with a layer of PVC or PE protective layer on the surface, and then woven into gabion mesh of various specifications. This protective layer will greatly increase protection in highly polluted environments, and through the selection of different colors, it can blend in with the surrounding environment.

(4) Zinc-5% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy steel wire coated with plastic: A layer of PVC or PE protective layer is coated on the surface of the zinc-5% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy steel wire,and then woven into gabion mesh of various specifications. This protective layer will greatly increase protection in highly polluted environments, and through the selection of different colors, it canblend in with the surrounding environment.

Gabion mesh weaving:

I: The gabion mesh is produced in one piece. Except for the cover plate, the side plates, end plates, and bottom plate are inseparable. Length/width tolerance (±5%), height tolerance (±5%). Internal partitions are used every 1 meter to divide it into independent units.

II: The gabion mesh is assembled. The cover plate, side plates, end plates, and bottom plate are produced separately and assembled into a mesh box. Each part is bound together with spiral steelwire. All edge wires of the mesh box use thicker wires to strengthen the gabion mesh.
